A key networking opportunity

Active City 2024 is the Department for Transport and Active Travel England's Annual Active Travel Summit

The conference plenaries, breakout and workshop sessions will run alongside Active Travel England-led sessions on the funding, support and guidance it offers to local authorities delivery partners to enable communities to make healthy and active transport choices.

Delegates networking

Active City Leicester will provide a unique opportunity to hear from industry-leading professionals and gain insight and knowledge on how active travel can be key to a wide range of agendas.

The conference will feature presentations, workshops and networking opportunities for professionals delivering walking and cycling projects across the UK and beyond. It takes place at the De Montfort University in the heart of Leicester. As well as a networking opportunity for active travel professionals, Active City Leicester is designed to bring together and inspire those working in public health, education, placemaking, net zero and levelling up alongside developers and planners.

Danny Williams, Chief Executive Officer, Active Travel England

"Active travel is about so much more than walking, wheeling and cycling for everyday trips. It's about unlocking local economic growth, improving the nation's health, and giving children freedom and independence"

Danny Williams, Chief Executive Officer, Active Travel England

We carefully curate the best conference programme by featuring an essential mix of keynote presentations from government, council hosts and sponsors, plus streamed seminars on a range of topics.

Active City 2024 is Europe's largest annual gathering of cycling and walking development professionals, and provides exhibitors with the ideal space for meeting and networking with existing and future customers.

Chris Boardman, Active Travel Commissioner

"If we want millions more people to walk, wheel and cycle to schools, shops and workplaces, we need to give them what they need to make the switch"

Chris Boardman, Active Travel Commissioner
